Pierre du Gard

The Charm of tradition the attraction of novelty,

The Pierre-du-Gard is a limestone extracted in the South of France. Its name is derived from the Gard River over which passes a Roman bridge built with this stone two thousand years ago. It remains today one of the most famous french landmark: Le Pont du Gard. This stone has a bright and warm beige colour and a rich texture resulting from a highly fossile content. Among numerous applications, it is today the most commonly used stone in France for fireplaces. This stone can be used in interior for wall facing, door and window frame, window-sill and decorative or functional furniture... In mild climate, it can as well be used outside for wall veneer, garden furniture, pool deck, retaining wall, balustrade and column... Today one can find this stone in traditional as well as in modern designed buildings.

For commercial or residential projects, Pierre du Gard is available in Europe and in America in slabs, tiles, cut-to-sizes elements. To place an order, to receive a sample or our documentation please email: dissaux@gommage.com
